Admitting a Wrong:  The Challenge and the Reward

Why is it so hard for people to admit when they are wrong? Research says it’s because that’s the way the human brain is wired.  Through cognitive dissonance, naïve realism and justification our biased brain convinces us that we are right in spite of a mountain of evidence to the contrary.  Neuroscientists have observed brain activity on MRIs that confirms the theory of cognitive dissonance.
